Micah Chase has been working in the entertainment business for the past twelve years in various capacities. Growing up he would spend time with his father who had been in the entertainment business for over twenty-five years as a radio morning show host and television news personality. Micah knew he wanted to work in the business and decided at a young age that it was going to be behind the camera.
Micah’s first break came when he was a junior in high school. He began interning for the local news channel at Time Warner Cable. He started out like every other intern, getting coffee and answering phones. But by his senior year in high school, he had worked his way up the ladder and was hired on to run Master Control. As a Master Control operator, he aired all of the station's television programming during the overnight shift. Micah then transitioned on to be a field camera operator. As a field camera operator was then assigned to the sports department where he covered teams like the Clippers, LA Kings, Lakers, and Sparks. In addition, Micah was given the opportunity to work as a nightly news editor. This experience provided him with future opportunities which later led him to the City of Santa Clarita.
In 2006, Micah took a job with The City of Santa Clarita where he produced and an edited a weekly television show, “This Week in Santa Clarita”, a weekly magazine show airing on the local cable station. He also produced City Council and Planning Commission Meetings which are streamed live and aired on the City’s local cable station. While with the City of Santa Clarita he edited numerous commercials and training videos for the film office. He played a hand in helping the city win a CAPIO award for Excellence in Communications. Micah also won two 3CCCMA (City-County Communications & Marketing Association) awards for a Television Commercial, as well as an Education & Training video.
Through 2009 to 2010 Micah held an internship at Alpha Dogs, a postproduction house located in Burbank where he had the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the post-production process. He sat in on numerous Avid and Pro-Tools sessions with clients and producers. He also had an internship with CBS in the Entertainment Tonight show, where he had the chance to see how a nightly entertainment show came together. Micah began writing interview questions for various press junkets. That internship provided Micah with the opportunity to work as paparazzi on the red carpet at the Golden Globes and American Music Award’s.
Currently Micah is enrolled at California State University Northridge where he is working towards his Bachelor’s degree in Film Production with an emphasis in Film Editing. He is on track to graduate in the spring of 2012.
